The DVI System solution is a classic web-based server solution, where the clients access the DVI Server through their web-browser.

Most features of the DVI System Client is built on Silverlight, so the client browsers must support the Microsoft Silverlight 5 plugin as well as HTML5.

The server(s) can be fully separated from the clients behind a firewall open for only port 80 (or 443 if https) is used:

 

The server(s) are implementing the following roles:

  • Internet Information Services (IIS)
    • DVI System File Domain Service
      • File registration and search
      • Dental Matching
      • DNA Matching(to be relased)
    • DVI System Reporting Services
    • DVI System B2B Services (to be relased)
    • DVI System Logging Service
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Fraunhofer IOSB Tattoo Matching Module (optional extra)

 which can be all installed on one server or distributed between multiple servers.
