General Architecture
The DVI System solution is a classic web-based server solution, where the clients access the DVI Server through their web-browser.
Most features of the DVI System Client is built on Silverlight, so the client browsers must support the Microsoft Silverlight 5 plugin as well as HTML5.
The server(s) can be fully separated from the clients behind a firewall open for only port 80 (or 443 if https) is used:
The server(s) are implementing the following roles:
- Internet Information Services (IIS)
- DVI System File Domain Service
- File registration and search
- Dental Matching
- DNA Matching(to be relased)
- DVI System Reporting Services
- DVI System B2B Services (to be relased)
- DVI System Logging Service
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Fraunhofer IOSB Tattoo Matching Module (optional extra)
which can be all installed on one server or distributed between multiple servers.
