In a disaster, often more than one numbering system may be used in victim identification e.g. AFIS (fingerprint system), MP (missing persons register) or DNA (bag or sample number) etc. 

These other reference numbers in the outside systems can be linked to the DVI System case number. In the DVI System as many "outside" references as a DVI case has, can be entered.

Once the DVI System case number has been linked to the outside number, then the DVI System case can be retrieved from the database by entering the number from the external system.

In the Case Manager window, enter the additional case number and a search will be initiated.

This makes it easy to find a case even if the number in the DVI System is not readily available. To display these additional reference numbers click the

  button to open the Additional Case Numbers window.
