You will find three extra tabs located to the far right of the screen - the File Manager tab, the Containers tab and the Notifications tab.
The tabs each represent a slide in/out panel, which is a kind of window that automatically expands across part of your screen, when you click on a tab. The slide in/out panel hides itself again when you click outside the panel.
File Manager (used as a shortcut)
The File Manager tab expands the list of files returned by your latest search.
When clicking on a row in the File Manager, it will expand the row and reveal further information about the file:
- A main attached picture if it exists.
- If Dental, Fingerprints, DNA or Tattoos are registered on the file
- Details about the owner of the file, Legal status and Offence Code
- Creation, expiry and latest import date of the file
- The containers the file is linked to - if any
- Missing circumstances if MPUB
Furthermore you can activate the file which is currently expanded by clicking the Pin as active button or just double click on the row/file you want to make the active file.
Containers
The Containers tab expands the list of all the Disaster Containers for which you are granted membership, awaiting membership or for which to apply for membership.
The Containers panel displays containers in three groupings:
- Assigned containers (the list of containers of which you are a member)
- Pending containers (the list of containers of which you have requested membership. These containers are awaiting an approval of the administrator owning the Disaster Container).
- Unassigned containers (the list of all containers from all countries, you can request membership of).
At the same time the Containers Management tap opens in the upper left side of your screen.
Three functions are available in the Containers group:
- Open (is available when an assigned disaster is selected)
- Remove (is available when an assigned or pending container is selected)
- Add (is available when an unassigned container is selected)
Opening a Container
When selecting a Container from the "Assigned containers" the Open action is available. NOTE: This function is not available yet!
Removing a Container
When selecting a Container from either the "Assigned containers" or "Pending containers" the "Remove" action is available.
The action will remove a membership or pending membership of the selected Container.
Add a Container
When selecting a Disaster Container from the "Unassigned containers" list, the "Add" action is available.
In the request dialog, it's possible to select the roles which the user wants to possess in the selected Container.
When clicking the "Ok" button, two scenarios are possible:
- If you are the owner of the Disaster Container, direct or indirect via a top level agency you will be added as a member of the Container directly, and the Container will appear in the "Assigned containers" list.
- If you are not owner of the Disaster Container your request will be added to the "Pending containers" list. A notification is sent to the owner of the Container. You have to wait for the Container owner to grant or reject your request. You will receive a notification once the Container owner has made his/her decision.
Notifications
The Notifications tab expands the list of notifications that you or your agency should handle. Notifications are messages from the system or other users regarding i.e. a request to join one of the Disaster Containers that your agency own, or a request for file disclosure in order to initiate an identification workflow.
This technique is preferable to sending out mails.
You can edit (accept/reject or delete/keep) a selected notification by clicking the Handle button on the Notes tab in the upper left part of the screen.
Depending on the nature of the notification, the "Handle" button will open a dialog with different options, for instance:
